Because it’s completely free. Because it’s fun. Because you meet other cool travelers. Because you get to share all your awesome travel stories with people who want to hear them. Because we’re the only site out there that gives you free frequent flyer points just for contributing. Because why wouldn’t you?

Privacy settings can be changed one of two ways. When you click on the “Edit” box to edit personal info or fun facts, it will take you to your privacy settings. From there you can decide what you want people to see and what you want to keep to yourself. Yeah, yeah, hide your birthday. We all do it.

Our search bar is at the top of every page on the site. You can see the mini navigational tabs at the top of it. So if you’re searching for a person, click on the “Person” tab, and so on. If you are looking to find somebody or somewhere specific, click on “Advanced Search” in the search box. Things get pretty advanced at that point but we think you’ll find what you’re looking for.

About once a week we compile an interesting collection of travel stories, news, and great DEALS. It's a great way to keep up on current frequent flyer promotions, cheap airline ticket deals, and industry news. We also feature stories about our community and report on any contests we are running that allow you to win cool stuff and miles.

Our survey service is a great way for you to provide input to travel companies so they can improve the products and services they offer you. But most importantly, you get rewarded with free frequent flyer points each time you participate in a survey. If you opt in to our service, we will send out emails whenever a market research opportunity comes up, and you can decide whether or not you want to take part in each one.

It’s crazy that we couldn’t simplify this more, but you actually have to click on “Add a picture to the album” link right below the album. I know…tough stuff. And unless your picture is x rated, it will get in.

Bummer, dude. Can’t find the answer to your question here? Then shoot us a quick email and ask it. We’ll get back to you very soon with some sort of an answer.

Technically speaking, a TripDoor is a "mat" on which you lay out the different components of your "place." Aha! The light just went off, right? Generally speaking, it’s our hip and trendy name for a website you build about your place. Hip and trendy? Who said that?

You delete a module by clicking on that ominous “X” in the top right corner. If you’re like us and you do this on accident, you can add modules by clicking on the orange “+” button in the sub-navigation at the top of the page. You can also add modules by clicking on the “Add Modules” link in the Quick Links. Who would have thought…?

You will be prompted to customize your TripDoor after you register. But for some of us, this is just way too overwhelming. Font sizes, background images, borders, oh my! If you’re not ready, it’s not a problem. Hit “Later,” and buy yourself some time. From your PlaceMat, you can access it by clicking on “Customize TripDoor” in Quick Links.

First of all, why do you want to add a URL? Well, maybe you want a specific or easy-to-remember address to share with all of your friends after you publish a stunning TripDoor. Or maybe you want to include the URL on your blog or another social network you belong to. Or maybe…..ok, we’re running out of ideas. In any event, click on the “Add URL” button in Quick Links and choose a unique address that is easy to remember and does a good job of explaining what you’re travel website is about.

When you are building or editing a TripDoor, you can click on the blue upper headline in any module and you will see a four-pronged arrow appear. Then you can “drag” the module and you will see a dotted line appear along its border. Each module can be moved up or down to reorganize the order of information on the page. Perhaps you want the photos module to be displayed after the blogs module. Or maybe you have this GREAT song that you want to appear at the very top of your website. You can do all of that with our drag and drop functionality. It’s pretty sweet.

Click on the “Insert/Edit Image” icon in the toolbar. When the window opens, choose the “upload” tab and then press “Browse” to locate the picture on your desktop. Then press “Send to server” to upload the picture. When it appears in your window, you can change the width and height, add a border, and change where it is aligned using the “align” drop down.

The best dimensions are 400 x 600 pixels and resolution is 72 dpi. Each photo cannot be any larger than 3MB. They need to be in JPG, PNG, or GIF format.

HTM…what???? Nah, we wouldn’t do that to you. Heck, even most of us don’t know the first thing about programming or coding. We’re travelers, remember? The site was designed so you can very easily build customized, interactive TripDoors with no prior knowledge of that geeky programming stuff.
